Successful local designer Jennifer AbubakarNgyan will be renewing her wedding vows with her husband, hotelier Harris Ngyan. The couple has three sons aged 7, 5 and 2 from their eight-year marriage. The family resides in the same city where Jennifer was born. The intimate ceremony entails active participation of the children. Harris and Jennifer will be off to a two-week holiday, just like newlyweds, shortly after the celebration.
Jennifer Abubakar met Harris when she took the job as an assistant in renovating the Intercontinental Hotel. Harris was obviously dead on at spotting great talent that attracted him to his future wife. Jennifer’s break into the mainstream was defined by her Award For Textile Design. She pioneered the implementation of Fair Trade production of premier quality designer cloth with minimal capital. If the initiative is launched properly, it will provide over 500 jobs for locals. She is up for another award for her continuous contributions in the field.
At her young age of 25, Jennifer is highly optimistic about the project. 500 job opportunities for her fellow locals is a good start in curtailing corruption and idleness. It encourages productivity and activity which will leave no room for corrupt elements. It will keep adults from leading a life of crime brought by unemployment and laziness. To those familiar with Catholic traditions, Saint Joseph is the patron saint of workers, Jennifer can be considered as one in her efforts to realise mass employment for natives.
The venture is set to begin sometime in October, once the new production building is finished.
