Awards Orlando won for his book A People’s Tragedy are The Wolfson History Prize, WH Smith Literary Award, NCR Book award, Longman- History Today Book Prize and also the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, primarily for his book – the People’s Tragedy.
Orlando Figes completed his schooling from William Ellis and then went to study further in history at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University where he excelled in his subject and he passed with double starred First, a very grade to be gotten by any student. Also he was later the lecturer at Cambridge and the fellow at Trinity College. Currently, he is a professor of history at Birbeck College, University of London.
